The Human Rights Arts & Film Festival (HRAFF) is a not-for-profit arts organisation that explores diverse and inspiring human stories through the mediums of film, art, music and forums, providing a platform whereby creatives, organisations and the Australian public are brought together by their common desire to contribute to social change.

The stories can be uncomfortable and challenging but overwhelmingly they are hopeful and inspiring.

In 2007, then, university student Evelyn Tadros realised that Australia was one of the few countries which didn’t have a Human Rights Festival and immediately set out to change this with several of her peers. The Festival is now entering its 11th year with Evelyn as Co-Founder and Chair and was recently awarded the Future Justice Prize.

As a Barrister at Law, Evelyn practises in commercial and public law. She has advised and acted for government, corporate and individual clients in a range of commercial matters. Her public law practice includes human rights, migration law, freedom of information, disciplinary proceedings and coronial inquiries.

She has just taken on her most challenging, but rewarding brief yet – motherhood.
