A Journalist looks back: Sam Lipski, Australia, and the Soviet Union

Members Lunch with Sam Lipski AM

Hosted by:

February 20, 2018 @ 11:30 pm - February 21, 2018 @ 1:00 am

Sam Lipski AM, Australian journalist

Sam Lipski is one of Australia's most distinguished and experienced journalists. He has reported for The Australian (as Washington correspondent), The Age, the ABC and Channel 9, and the Jerusalem Post, was executive producer for Four Corners, and editor of the Australian Jewish News. He was president of the State Library of Victoria and is CEO of the Pratt Foundation.

As well as sharing some of his myriad reflections on the events he has reported on, Sam will focus on his most recent book, 'Let my People Go', (co-authored with Suzanne Rutland OAM), which tells the little known story of the leading role Australia played in the international protest movement that led to the release of Jews and other 'refuseniks' from the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
