We are a community of curious, connected and interested Melburnians contributing to and engaging on the important issues of today and tomorrow.

Melbourne Forum gives you access to the highest level of expertise and real-world lessons that our conversation leaders – all with a reputation for excellence – bring to the table under the Chatham House rule.

We are committed to providing a platform for, and the increased visibility of, diverse voices.

With varied formats (in-person or virtual; conversation leader or members engaging with each other; learning from experts or new experiences) there are multiple ways to participate.

The Melbourne Forum board of directors invite you to join them in raising a glass (or two!) in the honour of our worthy recipients of the Australia Day Honour Awards, in particular, our members and guest conversation leaders.

Founding Director, Mr John Ridley AM for significant service to the community of Melbourne in a range of honorary and professional roles in community development and arts organisations.

Prof Ian Dunn AM, member of our Program Committee for significant service to the law, to legal standards, education, and specialist accreditation, and as a practitioner in the areas of negotiation and dispute resolution;

Cheryl Batagol PSM, for her Public Service Medal for outstanding public service to environmental protection and sustainability in Victoria.

Prior to Christmas, we were thrilled for former Director of the Melbourne Forum and senior legal practitioner, Michelle Quigley QC on her appointment as Judge of the Supreme Court and recently as the sixth President of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Our guest conversation leaders:

Chloe Munro AO recognised for distinguished service to public administration through leadership roles in the area of renewable energy, water and climate change process and reform, and to the performing arts;

Jon Hickman AM recognised for significant service to the community, particularly to education, heritage preservation, infrastructure and financial planning, and to public administration.

The Australian Honours system celebrates individuals who rise above the everyday and mark the extraordinary in our society, and we are proud that these members and guest conversation leaders choose to share their lives with the Melbourne Forum.

Melbourne Forum – Feeding minds and stimulating valuable contributions to Melbourne life.
