Hosted by:

January 11, 2019 @ 6:15 am - 7:40 am

Australian atirist and theatre icon Max Gillies teams with award-winning director and long-time Beckett aficionado Laurence Strangio to present Krapp’s Last Tape – Samuel Beckett’s remarkable duet for solo performer and tape recorder.

The comic meets the tragic in this timeless evocation of memory, existence and lost love, as Krapp, now in his 70th  year, prepares for the last annual recording of his aspirations and disappointments.

This significant play is about the marking and recording of anniversaries.  Plus Krapp’s Last Tape marks a significant milestone in theatrical history, the 60th anniversary of its first staging. It is Max Gilles remarkable 50th anniversary performance  of the title role.

This is a not to be missed theatrical experience in the intimate surroundings of 45 Downstairs, an award winning production with one of Australia’s celebrated actors Max Gilles.
