What about Climate Change?

Take a lunch break with Julian Burnside AO QC

James Garriock

April 23, 2020 @ 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm

All we seem to hear about at the moment is the coronavirus and the economy, but what about the other issues that were important two months ago?

Climate change is the biggest single issue we all face. It’s about our survival, but it’s also about jobs, health, power bills, the liveability of our towns and cities, whether it’s too hot to enjoy our summers, whether our community parks are protected, and whether we have clean air and clean water that doesn’t make us sick.

Julian Burnside AO QC is an Australian barrister, human rights and refugee advocate and author. He is a passionate advocate for the arts, a collector of contemporary paintings, photographs and sculptures and regularly commissions music.

Julian is the Chair of fortyfivedownstairs and was made an officer of the Order of Australia in 2009 for service as a human rights advocate, for service to the arts as a patron and fundraiser, and for service to the law.

Join us from 12:30pm via Zoom as Julian Burnside leads this stimulating and interactive conversation.
