Ovarian Cancer: Searching For A Cure

Drinks with Prof Alan Trounson AO

Hosted by:
John Ridley AM

June 20 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

$45.00 – $50.00

Every year over 300,000 people hear the words “you have ovarian cancer”. It is the least survivable gynaecological cancer, but it often misses out on the big campaigns, donations, and research grants. As with any type of cancer, earlier diagnosis and treatment can make a big difference, but the biggest challenge is that research to develop better diagnosis and treatments is severely underfunded.

We are privileged to hear from Professor Alan Trounson AO on the leading stem cell work being done to find a cure for ovarian cancer.

Professor Trounson is a stem cell biologist, IVF pioneer and former President of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. He is Emeritus Professor Monash University and Distinguished Scientist, Hudson Institute for Medical Research, Clayton, Victoria, Australia and CEO & Executive Director of Cartherics, an organisation whose mission is the development of novel, “off-the-shelf” (allogeneic) immune cell therapy products for the treatment of cancer.

This is what Melbourne Forum does best. We bring to members and potential members exclusive insights on the important issues of today and tomorrow. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover, learn, engage and connect.
