Weston Lewis
September 4 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
$55.00 – $65.00How do we understand the nuances of carbon credits, offsetting, decarbonisation and funding climate action? Is the voluntary carbon market going through an evolution? What future changes will we see? What is the importance of continuing to fund major climate projects that reduce and avoid emissions? What are the types of projects that offset contributions are going towards?
To help us unpack these questions is Tara Oakley, Head of Commercial Oceania for South Pole, a company that develops and implements comprehensive emission reduction projects and strategies that turn climate action into long-term business opportunities for companies, governments and organisations around the world.
Tara works with large corporations throughout the region across a variety of solutions on their climate journey including GHG accounting, climate risks, climate neutrality and Net Zero commitments, as well as financing climate action through carbon offsets. Prior to joining South Pole, she worked in global financial market trading as a premium account manager and senior sales trader. Tara holds a BSc in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Exeter and an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh.
