– Members Lunch with Gareth Dando
"Fifty years ago Australia was dubbed 'The Lucky Country', now many say we should be 'The Smart Country'. Is this vision compelling enough to really impact corporate Australia, or are entrepreneurship and innovation just buzzwords and a few start-ups?" – Gareth Dando.
Gareth is co-founder and Managing Director of Southern Cross Venture Partners, the only Silicon Valley-Australia venture capital fund, which links local technology to markets in the US and China. He was previously co-founder and CEO of Uniseed, the venture capital fund of the Universities of Melbourne, Queensland and New South Wales, which pioneered university investment in start-ups.
In the corporate sector, Gareth has 20 years of experience in strategy consulting and executive coaching. He is a Council Member of AVCAL, the Private Equity industry association, and a Director of the Alliance Française de Sydney.
