An evening at the Shrine
Limited tickets now available
Hosted by:
October 29, 2014 @ 5:15 am - 7:15 am
On 11 November the biggest redevelopment in the history of the Shrine of remembrance will be unveiled.
The $45 million Galleries of Remembrance project has used 1600 square metres of undercroft beneath the Shrine to create a vast network of exhibition spaces to honour Australian Servicemen and women in all wars and peacekeeping operations.
The Melbourne Press Club has extended an invitation to join them to attend an exclusive preview of the Shrine development.
Before a guided tour of the new galleries, there will be a panel discussion on Journalism and War involving a group of prominent Melbourne journalists and historians and chaired by senior Channel Nine newsman Brett McLeod.
The dramatic new galleries focus on individual and unit stories of Victorian service and sacrifice and include artefacts and images acquired or loaned by Victorian families and private collectors, as well as loans from major collecting institutions.
