May 30, 2016 @ 10:30 pm - May 31, 2016 @ 12:00 am

Goodwill Ambassador for Education of Timor-Leste and Chair of the Alola Foundation, Dr Kirsty Sword Gusmão AO, will share some insights into the challenges of rebuilding an education system from the ashes of destruction and in a linguistically diverse society.

"I feel tremendously privileged to have had a bird's eye view of the birth of a nation and to have played a small part in its reconstruction."

"Languages and the role they play in defining the identity of individuals and of countries fascinates me. I am looking forward to sharing my insights and experiences of language and nation-building in Timor-Leste with the members of the Melbourne Forum."
