What might Melbourne look like in 30 years time?
Over the next 30 years Melbourne is expected to become Australia's biggest city. This growth, as well as an ageing population, changing technology and a changing climate will put pressure on all of our infrastructure. But these challenges will also create opportunities that could transform our city and our state, and will change the way we work, learn, travel and deliver services.
So, what will the Melbourne of the future look like? And how do we plan for the future when it is so uncertain and when change happens so rapidly?
Infrastructure Victoria has been given the important task of developing the first ever statewide infrastructure strategy to address our future needs. So far, Infrastructure Victoria has put forward more than 200 possible ideas for how we could meet our infrastructure challenges over the short, medium and long term.
Infrastructure Victoria's Chief Executive Officer Michel Masson will provide an insight into the development of the strategy and how it could shape our future.
