Gareth Andrews – Footballer, leader and thought provoker.
Gareth’s journey through life is from football to the media to the world of giving back. He will tell his stories, the highs and the desperate lows. He believes he is back on top – but hold this space!
Gareth Andrews' football career has spanned over 50 years with the VFL/AFL, including 167 games as a player with Geelong and Richmond, playing in the 1974 Richmond Premiership, CEO of Richmond in 1978, joint-founder of the AFL Players Association, 20 years in the media with ABC Radio and TV, and writing for the Sunday Age. From 1998-2013 he was the Vice-President of the Cats, a period which led the club to sustained success.
In 2012 Gareth established Life Again, a registered not-for-profit charity that educates men to change and lead more fulfilling and purposeful lives. Through writing, public speaking, outback work with indigenous communities and personally challenging men, he asks the powerful question “Have you done your best work yet?” The answers will surprise.
