A Melbourne Forum special event

Hosted by:

May 16, 2018 - May 17, 2018

Life in the time of Independents.

You are invited to partake, and bring a prospective member, to this very special event that offers a taste of the Melbourne Forum.

Inviting potential members together at the one time will enable them to enjoy the conversation, mix with our current members in a casual environment and allows them the opportunity to get a wonderful overall understanding of our principals.

Although larger than our normal evening events, we are still limiting the numbers to 60 people to retain some intimacy – so be quick to book!

This is the era of the independents in the parliaments of Australia (and indeed around the world)!

As the reputations of and support for the larger established parties sink to an all time low, voters turn increasingly to independents who catch the aspirations of the community and do not have the bad ‘baggage’.

This means that the old parties may well not win a majority and have to secure the support of the independents to govern.

So the ones and twos of politics can have great power.

Two such MPs are Fiona Patten (Reason Party, Victorian Legislative Council) and Senator Derryn HInch (Justice Party, Australian Parliament).

Join us to hear them discuss ‘Life in the time of Independents’, hosted by Tony Walker.
