$20.00 – $25Dr John Hewson AM is deeply experienced in government and governance. Indeed he is an economic and financial expert who has worked in academia, business, government, media and the financial system. He is published widely for his informed views on government and the economy.
Dr Hewson’s political career included seven years as a ministerial advisor and, elected in 1987, a further eight years as the Federal Member for Wentworth in the Federal Parliament. He was Shadow Finance Minister, Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Industry and Commerce, then Leader of the Liberal Party and Federal Coalition in Opposition for four years.
His business career before entering politics was as a company director and business consultant and included roles as Foundation Executive Director, Macquarie Bank Limited and as a Trustee of the IBM Superannuation Fund.
Since his departure from politics, Dr Hewson has written extensively for the business and general press and spent time on the lecture circuit. In his writings, he has demonstrated an increasing focus on corporate social and environmental responsibility.
Dr Hewson has run his own private investment banking business, including as director/advisor of a wide range of companies.
