Educating Entrepreneurs

- Lunch with Erin Watson-Lynn

Hosted by:

August 29, 2016 @ 10:30 pm - August 30, 2016 @ 12:00 am

The National Innovation and Science Agenda is investing $1.1 billion in the 'Ideas Boom' over the next 4 years, with the goal of moving from a resource to an ideas-based economy. Despite this push for entrepreneurship, the way we teach students has largely remained the same, so how do we teach and encourage innovation and inspire students to become entrepreneurs?

Erin Watson-Lynn is a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Monash University . She is co-founder of DICE Kids, which is on a mission to grow a generation of Digital, Innovative, Creative and Entrepreneurial Kids. Its Patron is Lucy Turnbull AO. She is also the founder of international education company, Generate Worldwide, that delivers leadership, entrepreneurship and work integrated learning opportunities in India.

In 2015, Erin won the Australian federal government's Policy Hack and was an Australian delegate to G20 Youth Summit in Turkey. In 2016, Erin is an Australian delegate to the G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance in China. Erin has published with the Lowy Institute of International Policy, the Interpreter, Australian Policy Online, Women's Agenda and Startup Smart. She has appeared on ABC Radio National and KIIS FM. Erin was featured by Smart Company as one of nine female entrepreneurs to watch in 2016 and by StartCon as one of 5 female-led startups to watch in 2016.
