A Good Hustle with Sammy J? No – Just No! Urzila Carlson
Lets help re-build Melbourne
Hosted by:
John Ridley AM
April 13, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Free – $89.00The Minister for Creative Industries Steve Dimopoulos, said “Melbourne International Comedy Festival is one of the most iconic events in Victoria – its impact on our state is serious business. We back this festival because it creates thousands of job opportunities, packs a big economic punch and brings us together for one of the greatest joys in life – to laugh.”
This year, the Melbourne Forum are making a concerted effort to assist in the re-building of the city we love and when we have organisations like the Melbourne International Comedy Festival bringing people together from Australia and the world – then its time to head into the city and soak up the atmosphere!
As it can be overwhelming wading through the line-up and trying to choose something so we have created a double bill for you to join in on. For the first time ever we are going to open up an expression of interest before we sell the tickets.
For $89, members can join the double bill starting with watching Sammy J at the Forum Melbourne at 6:00pm until 7:00pm, then head over to the Melbourne Town Hall for an 8:15pm show with Urzilla Carlson. Did I mention that Sammy J will stop by and have a chat with our members in between the two events?
Learn about Sammy J and Urzila Carlson below.
After five years, 200 episodes and countless legal threats Sammy J is stepping away from his weekly ABC TV spot – but not before throwing a giant farewell party.
Come and farewell Government Coach, Playground Politics, National Yoga, bush poet SJ Paterson, Hookturnistan and more as we say “full credit” to taking the piss on the national broadcaster. Get around them, Australia. Good hustle.
Sammy J is a comedian, writer, composer and broadcaster. He’s played in Edinburgh, Montreal and London; had a sitcom on Netflix; is one half of the man/puppet comedy duo Sammy J & Randy and currently hosts the breakfast show on ABC Radio Melbourne. His debut book, The Long Class Goodnight, is out now through Hardie Grant and his ARIA-nominated show Symphony in J Minor is streaming on Paramount+.
Multi-award-winning, comedy powerhouse Urzila Carlson is hitting the road again with brand new show, Just No!.
We live in trying times where we’re acutely aware of each other’s opinions and shortcomings, making us the most frustrated population in the history of humankind. If you’ve ever queued up and someone blatantly cuts in front of you, past generations may have let that slide, but us, No – Just No! Are you taking over at a community picnic and thinking everyone will let it slide? No – Just No!
In Just No! Urzila discovers our frustrations are what bring us together – not sport, not love, not peace – but people who do us wrong, or get on our tits!
