"All great cities of the world have dedicated museums for the display of contemporary art which are both meccas for cultural tourism and centres of inspiration for the resident populations. Melbourne lacks a venue for permanent collections and changing exhibitions of global contemporary art. NGV Contemporary will fill this missing piece in NGV Contemporary Melbourne’s cultural landscape."
