The Victorian Pride Centre is Australia’s first purpose-built centre for LGBTQI+ communities.

In its own words, the Centre is a place to pave new directions for LGBTIQ+ communities, while honouring and celebrating their brave – and at times difficult – pasts. It serves as a hub for LGBTIQ+ to share ideas and resources and to further their work in supporting equality, diversity and inclusion across the State and it will grow into a destination for visitors from across Australia, and beyond.

As well as housing major and important LGBTIQ+ groups and organisations, the Centre provides flexible and multi-use spaces for hire, including, meeting rooms, an amazing rooftop terrace, co-working spaces, a theatrette and gallery.

The Centre recently won the Victorian Premier’s Design Awards for Architectural Design and overall design. It is a very important and welcoming addition to Fitzroy Street.

We will be privileged to have a tailor-made tour of the building – including the opportunity to speak with the CEO and with one or more of the LGBTQI+ groups and organisations housed in the building. The tour will be followed by a Question-and-Answer session.

The Centre’s work is important for all of us as we strive to make our communities and workplaces fair, diverse, and inclusive.

This will be a very special event, that we are delighted to present, as part of Melbourne Forum’s Open Door series.

Members and guests are welcome. The cost for this Open Door event covers a donation to the Pride Centre.

The visit will be followed by a casual meal (at own cost) at a nearby venue, for those who may be interested .
