The role of Arts, Culture and the Creative industries in the recovery from Covid-19

MF Digital with Rupert Myer AO

Hosted by:
Professor Emeritus Barbara van Ernst AM

September 8, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Free – $20

Australia’s culture is simultaneously ancient, highly contemporary, diverse, fearless, fresh and vital, witty and immersive. Our success as a nation has been primed in large part by our shared cultural inheritance, with all its richness, diversity and complexity, and its constant renewal by talented creative and cultural leaders.  If we get the policy settings right, arts, culture and creativity will not just benefit from the recovery from Covid, they will be leaders of that recovery and the value of our cultural inheritance will grow.

A former Chair of the Australia Council for the Arts and the National Gallery of Australia, and currently President of The Myer Foundation and A New Approach, an independent arts and culture think tank, Rupert will lead a discussion on the central place that arts, culture and creativity have in the lives of most Australians and the role that they could and should play in the nation’s recovery from Covid.
