SIGNATURE DINNER: Brexit, Trump, the French Election – what are the Global implications?
His Excellency Mr Christophe Lecourtier
Hosted by:
March 16, 2017 @ 5:30 am - 8:00 am
Melbourne Forum is privileged to welcome His Excellency Christophe Lecourtier, Ambassador of France to Australia, who will address a dinner event to be held at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins (appropriately and with gratitude to our member, Mr Clive Scott) on Wednesday 15 March, 2017.
In his several years as ambassador in Canberra, Christophe has made a significant impact on the public debate, ranging from issues relating from terrorism to Europe’s place in the world. His dinner address could hardly be more timely given forthcoming presidential elections in France, concerns about stability in Europe, the implications of Brexit and relations with the Trump administration.
Christophe is uniquely placed to address these issues having served as an adviser on Europe to former President Nicolas Sarkozy during a long and distinguished diplomatic career. His decorations include the Legion of Honor and The National Order of Merit, both in the rank of Knight. He was appointed Ambassador in Canberra in 2015. He is one of France’s outstanding public servants.
