Talking about Julian Assange – Should the Government Act?

MF Digital with Bruce Hartnett AM

Hosted by:
Prof Ian Dunn AM

November 4, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free – $20

An informal discussion with somewhat differing views!!!

Many in our divergent community have a variety of opinions. Some regard Julian Assange as a hero, a journalist who exposed appalling practices within the intelligence community. Others are concerned that his revelations put many lives at risk and that he deserves to be punished. If so, has he been punished sufficiently? And is it reasonable that he may be facing lengthy imprisonment in a maximum security prison in USA?

Bruce Hartnett, a long standing Melbourne Forum member who describes himself as a Flaneur and who has had a distinguished career in our civil society, culminating in his term as Chair of the State Services Authority, certainly has one view on this topic.

Join us for this digital discussion which promises to be very lively, about a topic which is already challenging our new government.

Arm yourself with a drink and enjoy a MF Special event.
