Mr Morrison’s additional Ministries. How COULD this happen?

Members' Dinner with Terry Moran AC

Hosted by:
Prof Ian Dunn AM

September 14, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

$85.00 – $95.00

The emerging account of the former PM’s approach to Australia’s Westminster system has troubled those supportive of that system and the safety afforded by checks and balances within it. Are we now more firmly on the path of Prime Ministers with ambitions associated with the US Presidential system and not parliamentary democracy?

Terry Moran AC will lead a discussion of this topic in the light of his experiences within four Australian systems of government – Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney – which included heading the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

In addition to his public sector leadership and policy development expertise, Terry chairs the Centre for Policy Development, an independent think tank, and is a Director of the Menzies Foundation.

In 2006, Terry was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for service to public sector leadership in key policy areas and program implementation, including technical and further education at state and national levels. In 2012, he was invested as a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for eminent service to the community through public sector leadership, as a significant contributor to policy development, program delivery and effective governance, and to the implementation of contemporary government administration.

We are very excited about the return of our Members’ Dinner format. Although formalities will be finalised by 8:00pm, members are welcome to stay on and continue the conversation in a warm, collegial atmosphere, to further develop relationships.
