$80.00 – $95.00Melbourne Forum is honoured to have Julianne Schultz AM lead discussion at a most important event.
Julianne Schultz has had an extraordinary career. Most recently she was founding director and editor of Griffith Review. She is a Professor at Griffith University’s Centre for Social and Cultural Research.
But the range of her professional activities is immense. A prolific author, much of whose work has been in a study of journalism, she was the librettist for two operas. She has been Associate Director of the Courier Mail, a producer for 4 Corners, and a general manager of strategy and communications with the ABC. Since 2019 she has been Chair of the Board of The Conversation.
But it is her latest work, the masterpiece “The Idea of Australia: A search for the soul of the nation” which is presently attracting so much attention. It has been described as the most important Australian book since Donald Horne’s The Lucky Country.
Ms Schultz will discuss this outstanding book and other aspects of her remarkable career over lunch on Friday 25 November 2022.
