Flesh After Fifty

A MF Cultural Life event

Hosted by:
Pamela Creed

March 12, 2021 @ 5:50 pm - 8:30 pm

$30.00

Changing images of older women in art

We live in a society swamped with images, where high value is placed on physical appearance and an association between attractiveness and youth, particularly for women. Flesh after Fifty will explore and challenge negative stereotypes of aging while celebrating and promoting positive images of older women through art.

Flesh after Fifty will bring to the fore images that need revisiting or have been overlooked, plus 10 new commissioned art installations that explore social issues, health and empowerment of older women.

Merrin Ricketson the education coordinator will join our conversation, as we tour the exhibition.

We will have access to the bar should you chose to purchase a drink and snack at the bar, and kick back and enjoy the fabulous

Stilletto Sisters – how much passion can you take in one night!

Allow three glamorous gypsy women woo you with a seductive blend of Hungarian gypsy tango and love songs from around the world.

Featuring the breathtaking virtuosity of Hungarian trained violinist Hope Csutoros (My Friend the Chocolate Cake) the dynamic piano accordion playing of Judy Gunson (Cosmo Cosmolino) and the wonderful talents of Jo To on double bass.

This evening is at the beautiful Abbotsford Convent, the cost is only $30 for both members and their invited guests and includes exhibition and show.
