Flesh after Fifty

Members' Lunch with Dr Martha Hickey

Hosted by:
Jane Fenton AM

September 3, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

$80.00 – $95.00

Women over 50 will soon be the largest sector of the population. They make up half the workforce, two thirds of the voluntary sector and make a vital contribution to families, communities and society. Despite this, female images are rarely seen and their bodies largely absent from the media and in works of art.

Dr Martha Hickey is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Co-Director of the Gynaecology Research Centre at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Women’s Hospital. She is also an NHMRC Practitioner Fellow. In her clinical practice she runs the largest public menopause service in Australia and in 2002 established the first multidisciplinary service for managing menopausal symptoms after cancer (MSAC). This service has now been replicated across Australia. She is a Senior Editor for the Cochrane Collaboration Gynaecology and Infertility Group and leads the international COMMA (Core Outcomes in Menopause) initiative.

Be part of this ground-breaking initiative! Flesh after Fifty will challenge and change the perception of women over 50.
