Melbourne Forum 2021 AGM
The AGM is a Members' Only event
Hosted by:
Prof Ian Dunn AM
November 30, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
FreeNotice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Melbourne Forum Limited will be held at 5.00pm sharp on Tuesday 30 November 2020 at the Kelvin Club, 14-30 Melbourne Place Melbourne. The business of the AGM is attached.
Links to access the meeting and key documents are included below
– RSVP by 5pm Tuesday 23 November 2021
– Notice of Meeting and Proxy Form including details on the business of the meeting
– A nomination form for election to the board
– A nomination form for Committee / Task Group
Directors are elected to stand for three-year terms initially.
Three members of the board notably Chris Gallagher, Nina Christesen and Sheila Nguyen have served their current three year terms and, being eligible to do so, offer themselves for re-election for a further term.
As an almost wholly volunteer organisation, we are always looking for people to assist us delivering the program that our members value so highly. I would like to encourage you to play a role in leading the Melbourne Forum by joining the Membership and Communications Committee, Program Committee, run a MF Interest Group, nominate for the Board, or if your commitments don’t permit, a Task Group. Attached is a Committee and Director Nomination Form. Individuals nominating for the board will usually have served on a committee, giving them a deeper understanding of the Forum’s operations.
As a guide, Board meetings are held every six weeks for about two hours, currently on Tuesday evenings. A 90% attendance rate for Directors is expected. Committee meetings are also held every six weeks for an hour and a half from 12:30pm – 2:00pm and an 80% attendance rate is expected. We are also looking for contributors to short-term Task Groups that deliver specific projects for the Board.
The new Board will be appointing office bearers, committee chairs and sub-committee members at its first meeting after the AGM.
If you are interested in nominating, this form will need to be returned to the Executive Officer no later than 5:00pm Monday 22 November 2021.
If you do have any questions regarding any of these positions, please feel free to discuss this with me.
I look forward to seeing you at the AGM and to your continued involvement with the Forum.
Yours sincerely,
Professor Ian Dunn AM
