What are the pressing governance issues and future trends facing Australian and International boards?

We are privileged to have two Melbourne Forum members lead a conversation on corporate governance.

Dr Nora Scheinkestel is an experienced company director having served as a non-executive chairman and director of companies in a wide range of industry sectors and in the public, government and private spheres. She is a non-executive director of Westpac Banking Corporation, Origin Energy and Brambles. Previous directorships: Telstra Corporation, Atlas Arteria Group, Ausnet Services, Orica, Newcrest, Pacific Brands, Stockland Group. Nora is also a trustee of the Victorian Arts Centre Trust. Nora’s executive background is as a senior banking executive in international and project financing, responsible for the development and financing of major projects in Australasia and South East Asia. She consults to government, corporate and institutional clients in areas such as corporate governance, strategy and finance. In 2003, Nora was awarded a Centenary Medal for services to Australian society in business leadership. Nora is also an Associate Professor at the Melbourne Business School at Melbourne University.

Dr John Harte is Managing Partner of Integrity Governance. Leading a team of governance, board effectiveness and performance specialists. Working with boards, business owners, ministers, senior public servants, senior managers and executives on all aspects of board effectiveness. Delivering a range of establishment, assessment (e.g., boards of directors, individual directors, CEO’s and chairmen) effectiveness, training, strategic planning and dispute resolution services to boards (deliberately avoiding recruitment due to the inherent conflicts of interest). Working in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America with clients ranging from SME’s to multinationals.

This will be an exceptional evening for members, potential members and guests to hear from, and engage in conversation with, two skilled and experienced corporate governance experts.
