Rising – a surge of art, music, performance and ceremony in the heart of Melbourne

A MF Cultural Life event with a 5:00pm start

Hosted by:
Sally Arnold

May 27, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$51.00 – $53.00

Attending ‘Rising’ will give us an opportunity to catch up on Cultural events closed down last year.

We will spend time in the Flinders Street Ballroom immersive multi sensory display of sight, sound and video and then walk across to the Myer Music bowl for our “Wild” experience of bamboo forests, to architectural tunnels, complete with a Giant Moon lighting up the Ice Rink. Then return back to the Flinders Street station complex. And for those who would like to indulge in a Vino or two we can finish the night at one of the great bars close by, “Clocks” or “Arbory”. Both a huge part of Melbourne’s culture and style and a meaningful way to celebrate a return to the Arts and Culture in Melbourne. I am looking forward very much to hosting this night. A return for me to my deep love of the Arts here in Melbourne.

Ambitious in scale and impact, RISING will begin on the evening of the total lunar eclipse in May 2021. Over 12 nights, festivity and late-night culture will intersect with huge moments spanning the emerging and iconic, the epic and intimate. We have secured tickets to discover this amazing world on Thursday 27 May beginning at 5:00pm.

Hidden for decades, Flinders Street Station’s mysterious ballroom opens its doors for Australia’s pre-eminent visual artist.  The World Premier of A Miracle Constantly Repeated—an eco-system of hyper-real silicone sculptures, video, sound and light devised by Patricia Piccinini at 5:00pm followed by:

The Wilds – Slivers of light flicker through a bamboo forest, moving and swaying to the beat. Architectural tunnels lead you through mirrored fields and roaring fires, to an ice rink lit by a giant moon.

These tickets will sell out, but as with all of our Cultural events, we can not offer credits or refunds if you can not attend.
