A Greater Focus on the ‘S’ in ESG?

Sustainability Leadership Forum

Hosted by:
John Bahoric
Dianne Jacobs

February 28, 2023 @ 7:15 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

The ‘S’ in ESG is high on the corporate agenda and as the focus grows, companies are shifting from a reactive to a proactive position.

While there are many examples of ‘E’ and ‘G’ concerns to point at – environmental disasters and failings of governance – these risks and dilemmas are actually a result of ‘S’ fault lines.

When the ‘S’ comes under pressure or scrutiny – which includes people management, workforce arrangements, culture, reputation, supply chain, human rights, indigenous voice; diversity, equity and inclusion; data and technology, stakeholder and investor management – it highlights a post COVID world where the risks, expectations and opportunities associated with the ‘S’ are critically important.

Among the questions this Sustainability Leadership Forum will explore are:

What should the ‘S’ stand for?

What are the opportunities and responsibilities of CEOs and their organisations?

Does this require a shift in managerial leadership styles?

How should an organisation take social and civic leadership?

Will a focus on the ‘S’ enable and accelerate change across the ‘E’ and the ‘G’?

How do we ensure equal, engaged and vibrant societies?

What are the implications for an organisation’s stakeholders of a socially driven ESG?

What is happening in the business world and who is doing it well?

This Sustainability Leadership Forum brings together those interested in sharing perspectives and exploring key issues with fellow members about sustainability and ESG (environmental, social, and governance). The intimacy of the experience is enhanced when everyone who attends gets to comment and exchange ideas. The hosts are members whose role is to gently guide the group’s conversation
