$45.00In recent years, the landscape of feminist movements has seen a dynamic shift, with various groups emerging to challenge traditional gender norms and expectations. One such movement that has gained attention is the 4B Movement, purportedly originating in South Korea in 2019. Advocating for a lifestyle that renounces dating men, marriage, sex with men, and having children, the 4B Movement has sparked significant discourse and debate within feminist circles globally.
At its core, the ideology of the 4B Movement revolves around the rejection of patriarchal structures that dictate women’s lives, particularly in the realms of relationships and family. The “4B” in the movement’s name symbolises the four main areas of focus: “Boys” (dating men), “Bae” (marriage), “Bed” (sex with men), and “Baby” (having children). By abstaining from these aspects of conventional heterosexual relationships, proponents of the 4B Movement seek to reclaim agency over their bodies and lives.
The 4B movement is now gaining support around the world. You can read more here.
Does the 4B movement provide a sustainable framework for addressing gender inequality, or does it risk alienating potential allies and creating further societal divisions? Join us to share your thoughts on this hot topic.

Dangerous Dinners give you the opportunity to fearlessly discuss contemporary, challenging and interesting ideas, themes and points of view.
In a relaxed, informal dining environment, we draw on the diverse expertise of our members sharing their ideas and experiences on complex or controversial topics; to learn from others, challenge assumptions, spark new ideas or point the way for potential actions.
Dangerous because the topics may be difficult to discuss, ask the silent questions, challenge thinking, unpack pressing issues, test emerging trends. Safe because we respect others’ views, it is polite not offensive, under Chatham House rule and listening with the intent to learn.
Once a month, you will be able to join your fellow Melbourne Forum members for a robust discussion on a range of themes in dynamic company and over a light meal. The focus is on ‘food for thought’ with shared conversations and shared platters as part of the collegiality.
