Our events strive to be informal, enlightened, diverse and inclusive. We facilitate many engaging conversations for our members and their guests.
Melbourne Forum is committed to provide a greater platform for and the increased visibility of diverse voices.
The Melbourne Forum hosts over 60 events a year:
Lunch events are held in the CBD, generally from 12:30pm – 2:00pm (time of official proceedings is strictly enforced so guests can leave on time.) Conversation leaders commence proceedings with an address – sharing the latest thinking in their fields, followed by questions and discussion around the table.
Members’ Drinks and Members’ Dinners with conversation leaders, are held outside normal business hours. Members’ Drinks run from 5:15pm – 7:00pm and Members’ Dinners run from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.
Signature Events are opened to a larger quantity of members and for an extended period of time. Our Signature Lunch events run from 12noon – 2:30pm, while our Signature Dinner events run from 6:00pm – 8:30pm.
The Cultural Life Series invites members to innovative edgy performances, tours and exhibitions that are a talking point of Melbourne’s diversified arts scene. These events are held over weekends or after normal business hours.
Our Change Maker series invite conversation leaders to talk on themselves and their personal journeys and the impact they have made.
Member Moderated Events are developed and led by members and for members. Discussions focus on a contemporary, complex or controversial issue in a relaxed, dinner party format of only 14 members. These events offer a unique opportunity for deeper learning and possible pathways to making a contribution or acting on a matter of importance to members.
Dangerous Dinners give us the opportunity to fearlessly discuss contemporary, challenging and interesting ideas or controversial topics.
Digital events are where we come together online to hear international or interstate speakers share their valuable insights.
Member Forums are designed for members to meet regularly to further develop strong relationships within Melbourne Forum through the sharing of common interests such as ‘non-fiction books’ or ‘sustainability leadership’. These thought-provoking conversations enhance how we learn and exchange ideas.
Members can invite a guest to attend most events. We encourage our members to introduce your trusted colleagues and connections to the Melbourne Forum.
